Job summary

HDR is seeking a senior Construction Manager/Resident Engineer in the Northern CA Bay Area to lead subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and quality control for rail substations. You will develop procedures, manage procurement tasks, and oversee cost, schedule, and safety compliance within a complex project team.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in construction planning and management, strong stakeholder communication skills, and proficiency with Procore, Prolog, and Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or closely related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction planning and management, including contracts, time/cost/quality management, change management, and safety.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software (Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam).
• Strong people skills and ability to interact with Owner, Engineer, Contractor and project stakeholders.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture; sponsorship for US employment is not available.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors, scheduling, and quality control for rail substations in the Northern CA Bay Area.
• Develop and implement construction procedures with the project team.
• Prepare procurement scopes, estimates, and bid review; manage subcontracts.
• Administer construction activities and monitor design progress related to construction.
• Coordinate, expedite, and review submittals; manage budgets and schedules.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and maintain project communications.
