Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager/Resident Engineer in California to lead subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and quality control for rail transit facilities.

You will develop procedures, manage procurement, and oversee project estimates and progress while ensuring safety and compliance. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in construction planning and management, experience with rail transit projects, and proficiency in PM software like Procore, Prolog, Primavera, and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in construction planning and management including contracts, procurement, scheduling, cost control and safety.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam, etc.
• Visa sponsorship (US employment) is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractor coordination, scheduling and quality control for substation facilities within rail transit systems in the Northern CA Bay Area.
• Develop procedures for executing activities in coordination with the construction management/project team.
• Perform construction management activities including development procurement, schedules, subcontracts, estimates, and progress presentations.
• Administer and manage construction activities.
• Monitor progress of the design related to construction requirements.
• Perform value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate local bidding efforts for quotes obtained in the field.
• Assist in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages.
• Coordinate, expedite and review construction submittals.
• Control the project budget and schedule.
• Coordinate and manage project quality assurance and inspection services.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with Health and Safety Program.
• Prepare and update project schedules, pay requests, and progress reports.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
