Job summary

HDR is seeking a Construction Manager II in the Oakland area to lead subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and quality control for substation facilities within rail transit systems in the Northern California Bay Area.

You will develop and implement construction procedures, oversee procurement and subcontracting activities, and coordinate with the project team to monitor design progress, perform value engineering, and review constructability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction planning and management, including contracts; document, time, cost, and quality management; change management; and site safety.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for subcontractor coordination, scheduling and quality control relating to substation facilities within rail transit systems in the Northern CA Bay Area.
• Develop procedures for executing such activities, and implement procedures in coordination with the construction management/project team.
• Perform additional construction management activities, including development procurement—construction schedules, construction subcontract scopes, review of subcontract terms and conditions, performance of constructability and value engineering reviews, construction estimating and schedule reviews, and project construction performance presentations.
• Administer and manage construction activities.
• Monitor progress of the overall design as related to construction requirements.
• Coordinate local bidding efforts for quotes obtained in the field.
