Road & Rail Services in Spartanburg, SC seeks a Track Services Site Manager to lead our railroad track operations. This hands-on leadership role manages staff, coordinates daily maintenance, and upholds safety culture while ensuring work aligns with customer and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has railroad track maintenance or construction experience and understands how to lead field teams, equipment operators, and crews in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• Previous railroad track maintenance or track construction experience.
• Prior supervisory or management experience.
• Knowledge of railroad track maintenance practices and equipment.
• Experience around or operating heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train, coach, and hold employees accountable.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Availability for on-call, weekend, and after-hours responsibilities when operational needs require.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily railroad track maintenance and repair activities.
• Lead, coach, train, and develop track workers and equipment operators.
• Plan daily work assignments and coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor job progress, productivity, quality, and completion timelines.
• Ensure track work meets company, customer, and applicable railroad requirements.
• Oversee the safe operation of track maintenance machinery and heavy equipment.
• Support work involving rail cutting, material handling, track alignment, and other track maintenance activities.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and job briefings.
• Identify workplace hazards and take corrective action.
• Maintain compliance with FRA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.
• Reinforce company safety policies, standard operating procedures, and customer expectations.
• Assist with employee training and performance management.
• Communicate operational needs, challenges, and project status to upper management.
• Respond to operational issues and emergency situations when required.
• Maintain a professional working relationship with customers and employees.
