Job summary

Road & Rail Services is seeking a Track Services Site Manager in Spartanburg, SC to lead rail operations, manage crews, and drive maintenance projects safely and efficiently. This hands-on leadership role requires coordinating daily activities, monitoring progress, and upholding FRA/OSHA/DOT standards.

The ideal candidate will have railroad track maintenance or related industry experience, supervisory ability, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Previous railroad track maintenance, track construction, or related industry experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• Knowledge of railroad track maintenance practices and equipment.
• Experience working around or operating heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train, coach, and hold employees accountable.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily railroad track maintenance and repair activities
• Lead, coach, train, and develop track workers and equipment operators
• Plan daily work assignments and coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials
• Monitor job progress, productivity, quality, and completion timelines
• Ensure track work meets company, customer, and applicable railroad requirements
• Oversee the safe operation of track maintenance machinery and heavy equipment
• Support work involving rail cutting, material handling, track alignment, and other track maintenance activities
• Conduct regular safety meetings and job briefings
• Identify workplace hazards and take corrective action
• Maintain compliance with applicable FRA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements
• Reinforce company safety policies, standard operating procedures, and customer expectations
• Assist with employee training and performance management
• Communicate operational needs, challenges, and project status to upper management
• Respond to operational issues and emergency situations when required
• Maintain a professional working relationship with customers and employees
