Job summary

Kanawha River RR, LLC is seeking a foreman to safely inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure while supervising a team. The role focuses on safe, efficient service and adherence to safety rules and regulations.

You will oversee track laborers and equipment, perform inspections on rails, ties, turnouts, and road crossings, and ensure timely reporting and compliance with standards. Must meet education and certification requirements and be prepared for outdoor work in all

Qualifications

• Must be able to recognize problems, apply common sense and follow written and oral instructions.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Flexible work schedule required.
• Knowledge of Roadway Protection Rules and FRA Track Safety Standards.
• Broad understanding of railroad operations and equipment experience.
• Ability to perform basic math and calculations.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with applicable governmental regulations.
• Ability to manage contractors.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Class D Driver’s License required.
• Track Ground School, GCOR Written Test and related safety trainings are expected.
• Passing FRA Track Standards and related tests may be required on site.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Track Laborer, Trackman, and Truck Driver/Machine Operator.
• Inspect and manage track materials and ballast processes.
• Inspect and maintain rails, ties, and turnouts.
• Oversee road crossings, bridges, culverts, and tunnels.
• Ensure safety inspections, reporting, and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate track projects with departments and attend meetings.
