Rail Switching Technician

Be the next key member of our Rail Switching Team as the PSC Group is now hiring! Spend your days along the rail tracks and work as a team with the engineer on the train to safely move railcars in, out and around the facility. This is a regular full-time position so if you are looking for a stable, long-term career in a booming industry, then consider joining the PSC Group family!

Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday (4:00pm - 12:30am)

Pay Range: Starting at $23.00 per hour (could vary with experience)

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Examines track list to spot, separate, load and/or build railcars for shipment
  • Ensures railcars are properly connected and/or are secured by setting the brake
  • Separates loaded railcars that will be shipped from those that have been preloaded
  • Weighs all inbound and outbound loads and empties to ensure weights do not exceed
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
  • May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
