Job summary

Norfolk Southern Corp. invites applications for the Electrical Apprentice Signal Trainee role in Greenville, SC. The hands-on program combines classroom instruction and field training to develop skills in installing, inspecting, and maintaining essential signal systems.

Successful trainees will join the seniority roster and bid on Signal Maintainer positions. Relocation may be required; travel during training is up to 75%.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, and TWIC card are preferred or required certifications.
• CDL Class A is required within 90 days of hire; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform FRA-required inspections and testing of signal systems and grade crossings.
• Install, maintain, and repair signal equipment including signal lights and switch machines.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams.
• Work on-call, nights and weekends, with extensive travel during training (up to 75%).
