Job summary

RailWorks Corporation seeks a Safety Coordinator in New York to oversee project safety programs, investigations, and regulatory compliance. The role ensures hazard prevention and incident response across sites, with a focus on OSHA/FRA standards and customer requirements.

The position requires multiple industry certifications (NYCT, DoB Site Safety, OSHA 30, asbestos license) and strong reporting, communication, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in safety roles in construction
• NYCT Track Safety training completed
• NYCT ROW experience with flagging/diversions preferred
• Site Safety Manager Course completed
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety & Health completed
• ASSP member
• Asbestos Inspector License current
• Supervisor/Competent Person Training for De-leading current
• Annual safety training minimum 6 hours
• Strong report writing and analytical skills
• Proficient with MS Office and safety software

Responsibilities

• Conduct worksite surveillance and safety training for employees
• Document unsafe conditions and incidents
• Investigate incidents with interviews and inspections
• Ensure compliance with internal processes and regulations
• Plan and implement safety policies per FRA/OSHA and customer requirements
• Train hourly workers, foremen, supervisors, and managers
• Inspect sites for hazards and implement corrective measures
• Lead near-miss investigations and prepare evidence for hearings
• Submit incident reports and maintain safety files
• Oversee Workers’ Compensation administration
• Provide safety signage and protective materials
• Assist regional/corporate safety leadership as needed
