Job summary

WSP is seeking a Rail Operations Coordinator (Track Access and Outages) to support construction projects from our New York office at One Penn Plaza. This on-site role covers coordination of track access, outages, and coordination with railroad operations and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of rail operations or construction coordination experience, strong communication, and proficiency with schedules, reports, and field documentation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in construction, rail operations, project coordination, infrastructure programs, or related fields.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience coordinating, attending, documenting, and tracking regularly scheduled and ad hoc project meetings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare reports and meeting minutes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience on large-scale governmental agency capital construction projects, including rail infrastructure.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle screening.
  • Preferred OSHA 10- or 30-hour Construction Safety certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Track Access Plans to maximize rail outage opportunities and track access time.
  • Assist in evaluating solutions to increase track access time and support contract work.
  • Coordinate with client and project team to evaluate operations and track access alternatives.
  • Coordinate service plans, outages, work trains, and flagging activities to support contractor operations.
  • Monitor field inspector timesheets and overtime; track approvals for outage and access requests.
  • Prepare reports, meeting minutes, schedules, logs, and project documentation.
  • Attend coordination meetings and ensure adherence to safety policies.
