Job summary

Transco Rail Services is seeking an Entry-Level Repair Technician to support experienced welders by performing basic repairs and rail car-related tasks. You will repair metal parts according to layouts and plans, and collaborate in a TEAM environment to ensure efficient maintenance work.

The role requires physical capability, willingness to learn air brake testing, and the ability to work on the Third Shift (10:00pm-6:30am) with some Saturdays, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Qualifications

• Basic repairs on metal parts per layouts, work orders, blueprints
• Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and sketches
• Willing to learn air brake test and related procedures
• Must be able to work in adverse weather and physically capable of lifting 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Assist more experienced welders with the sequence of cutting and welding operations
• Aligns and welds components of metal tools, wires, fixtures and other metal products
• Learn the trade from more experienced coworkers and contribute to team goals
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain clean, orderly work areas
