Job summary

Transco Rail Services in Miles City, MT is seeking a Repair Technician for 2nd shift to perform basic repairs on rail car components and related tasks. This role requires reading layouts, work orders, blueprints, and schematics, with emphasis on teamwork and safety.

You will use pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, welders, and cutting torches to repair parts of metal and weldable materials. Physical effort includes lifting up to 50 pounds and operating in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds with proper technique.
• Willing to learn air brake test and repair procedures.
• Ability to work in adverse weather and physically demanding conditions.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs on metal or weldable materials per layouts and work orders.
• Repair parts of rail cars and perform related maintenance tasks.
• Work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
