Job summary

Progress Rail, A Caterpillar Company, seeks a QA Specialist to manage the quality system in a manufacturing environment in Muncie, IN. You will supervise inspection staff, coordinate customer inspections, and drive corrective actions to ensure compliance with AAR, M-1003, FRA, and internal standards.

The role requires knowledge of ISO 9001 practices, calibration of test equipment, and experience with quality tools such as SPC and FMEA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience as supervisor or lead in Quality in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience auditing and equipment inspection preferred.
• Knowledge of machining, welding, assembly, mechanical devices.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains the quality system, including plans, documentation, and training.
• Responds to internal and external quality issues and leads corrective actions.
• Oversees inspection personnel and supplier quality programs.
• Ensures calibration of inspection and test equipment.
• Maintains M-1003 compliant quality systems and other standards like AAR.
• Coordinates customer inspections and follow ups.
• Develops and conducts quality training for production employees.
