Job summary

CPKC is seeking a Road Foreman in Shreveport, LA to educate and monitor safe work practices for operating crews and to enhance locomotive engineers' efficiency in accordance with CPKC rules and safety policies. You will promote compliance and lead training programs within the territory.

The role requires field evaluations, on-the-job coaching, and coordination of retraining and certification activities, with a strong focus on safety, communication, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2+ years as a qualified railway locomotive engineer per regulations.
• Strong knowledge of railroad operating rules and GCOR.
• Ability to coach, train and mentor train crews and conductors.
• Excellent communication skills for effective instruction and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform locomotive engineer field evaluations.
• Plan and deliver remedial training for deficiencies.
• Coordinate conductor training and field on-the-job training.
• Oversee triennial recertification for conductors and engineers.
• Conduct field efficiency testing and provide input for course content.
