Qualifications

• Must be able to work now and in the future without company sponsorship.
• At least 18 years old by start date.
• Report for duty at designated work location.
• Work safely in required conditions.
• Work the listed shifts/hours.
• Meet travel requirements.
• Read, write and understand English.
• Lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Learn to identify and interpret hand signals and judge speed/clearance.
• Visually distinguish colors (red/blue/green/yellow) and night vision.
• Differentiate colors on computer displays.
• Distinguish verbal/non-verbal signals and comprehend verbal communication.
• Use hands and hand tools (holding, grasping, turning, pulling).
• Climb ladders and get on/off equipment.
• Work at various heights on locomotives/railcars.
• Occasionally bend, lift, walk and stand with breaks.
• Walk/perform on uneven surfaces.
• Sit frequently with breaks.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate track switches and derails to route trains and check alignment.
• Inspect trains and equipment; ensure proper formation and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor track conditions and report issues.
• Work in safety-sensitive environment under varying weather conditions.
• Engage in safety conversations and adhere to safety rules and regulations.
• Relocation assistance not available; 60-day probation after training.
