Job summary

Energy Transfer is hiring a Rail Operator to safely operate and maintain rail equipment, track, and switches, enabling the efficient transfer of crude oil and petroleum products to and from railcars in accordance with regulations. The starting wage for new Rail Operators is $28.75 per hour.

The role requires knowledge of CFR-DOT regulations, rail terminal operations, and the ability to work under supervision while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• English communication skills required.
• Basic math and PC skills.
• Knowledge of CFR-DOT regulations pertaining to shipment of hazardous materials.
• Knowledge of transloading, rail terminal, railcar mover/locomotives.
• Knowledge of AAR and FRA standards, policies, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate rail equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Perform pre- and post-railcar loading inspections and document results.
• Document railcar information in the flow computer system accurately.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain constant and safe product flow.
• Maintain and inspect track, switches, and related equipment.
• Stow and secure railcars for inbound/outbound movements.
• Perform general maintenance on field equipment and facilities.
