Job summary

Watco is seeking a Railroad Operations Supervisor to oversee train crews and coordinate switching activities within rail yards and facilities. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations while directing loading/unloading operations and ensuring accurate train lists.

The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory skills, a solid understanding of FRA regulations, and the ability to train and guide crews in a dynamic, on-site environment at facilities in Baton Rouge

Qualifications

• Must pass and/or obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications as required for this position.
• Must hold and continue to hold a current locomotive engineer and conductor's certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates train crews.
• Communicates switching orders to train crews with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Utilizes systems and reports to organize and communicate customer changes to cars.
• Ensures daily train lists are executed accurately and timely by train crews.
• Investigates and provides accurate reports for incidents or accidents.
