Job summary

You will train staff, monitor performance, and collaborate with operations to optimize throughput.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain required reporting, testing, and certifications.
• Must hold and maintain locomotive engineers and conductor certifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee train crews and coordinate switching within yards or facilities.
• Communicate switching orders with emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Utilize systems and reports to communicate customer changes to cars.
• Ensure daily train lists are executed accurately and on time by crews.
• Investigate incidents or accidents and provide accurate reports.
• Understand cost factors and location profitability.
• Comprehend locomotive requirements by horsepower and trailing tonnage; monitor fuel efficiency.
• Know FRA regulations affecting railroad operations and safety rules.
• Train switch crews and others on job duties and safety guidelines; pass required training.
• Perform other duties as requested or required.
