Job summary

Watco is seeking a Train Crew Supervisor to oversee switching railroad cars within a yard or plant. You will coordinate train crews, ensure safe loading/unloading, and communicate switching orders to maintain efficiency and on-time performance.

Ideal candidates will have an active locomotive engineer and conductor certification, be 18+, and able to pass required trainings. This full-time on-site role offers on-the-job training and career development opportunities at Watco.

Qualifications

• Must pass and/or obtain reporting, testing, and certifications as required for this position.
• Must hold and maintain locomotive engineer and conductor certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates train crews.
• Communicates switching orders to train crews focusing on safety and efficiency.
• Utilize various systems and reports to organize and communicate customer changes to cars.
• Ensure daily train lists are executed accurately and timely by train crews.
• Investigate and provide accurate reports for any incidents or accidents.
• Understand factors contributing costs and overall profitability of location; understand locomotive requirements and fuel efficiency.
