L. G. Everist, Inc. seeks an Operations Manager to oversee daily freight transport logistics, supervising train crews and dispatchers for safe, on-time performance. The role covers interchanges with Class I railroads and operations between Sioux City, IA and Dell Rapids, SD.

Stellar candidates will have a deep knowledge of GCOR, strong leadership, and the ability to manage budgets, KPIs, and cross-functional collaboration while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5-8 years of progressive leadership experience in the railroad industry.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, FRA, EPA, DOT).
• Coordinate, plan, and manage train crew members and activities.
• Manage scheduling, training, and evaluations.
• Coordinate freight delivery and railcar interchanges with Class I railroads.
• Create and manage the daily operations plan.
• Maintain budgets, track KPIs, and drive continuous improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Build relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and agencies.
• Deep understanding of GCOR and railroad regulations.
