Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in White River Junction, VT is seeking an Intermediate Rail Operations Analyst to join our rail operations team. You will use TrainOps to simulate performance, assess capacity, and support service planning across freight, passenger and urban transit networks.

You will lead studies, develop client operating plans, mentor junior staff, and contribute to software documentation and new feature development. Strong rail knowledge and 3+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in an applicable field.
• At least 3 years practical industry experience in rail operations.
• Experience with rail simulation software (RTC/OpenTrack/RailSim/OnTrack) preferred.
• Knowledge of rail systems, signals and vehicles.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Use Hatch’s TrainOps software to simulate train performance and assess rail network operations.
• Develop client rail service and operating plans and support cost modeling work.
• Lead studies on travel time, capacity, traction power and line optimization.
• Author technical reports, mentor staff, and perform quality reviews.
• Support feature development and documentation for TrainOps for various rail networks.
