Job summary

RSI Logistics, recently acquired by Trinity Industries, Inc., is seeking a Rail Logistics Coordinator to monitor loaded railcars from origin to final destination and to manage empty returns. You will identify exceptions, escalate issues, and keep business partners informed of trip variations.

Responsibilities include using a cloud-based tracking system, coordinating with railroads, ensuring correct routing and on-time arrival, and applying knowledge of bills of lading and railroad terminology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in rail operations or logistics coordination.
• Proficient in technical writing and clear communication.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Monitor loaded railcars from origin to destination using a cloud-based tracking system.
• Identify issues and escalate exceptions, keeping stakeholders informed.
• Coordinate with railroads via phone/email to troubleshoot delays and logging issues.
• Ensure railcars travel on the correct route and arrive on time.
• Understand bills of lading, waybills, and railroad terminology.
• Demonstrate goal-driven, self-starting, continuous improvement mindset.
