Job summary

R.J. Corman Railroad Company in Hondo, TX is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to lead mechanical operations for locomotives and related equipment. You will plan daily operations, supervise crews, and ensure safety and efficiency in maintenance tasks.

The role requires mechanical expertise, knowledge of power/hydraulic tooling, and experience with rail car repair. Occasional travel and ability to operate a CMV are expected, with comprehensive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience required.
• Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools.
• Electrical experience preferred.
• Experience in rail car repair preferred.
• Welding and Oxygen/acetylene torching experience a plus.
• Medical Card holders a plus!

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safe, efficient, and profitable general management of mechanical operations.
• Oversees efficient operation through planning and control of daily operations, crew scheduling, and supervising.
• Follow and monitor work practices, safety related issues to improve quality and performance.
• Locomotive and FRA inspections.
• Locomotive repairs including mechanical, air and electrical.
• Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repairs on assigned company locomotives, vehicles, and equipment.
• Freight car repair if necessary.
• Must operate Commercial Motor Vehicle.
• Some travel to other locations required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
