Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking a Rail Loader to perform hands-on railcar loading and preparation duties in Smyrna, TN. You will open and close railcar doors, set bridge plates, and ensure vehicles are properly spaced and secured for outbound shipments.

Ideal candidates have experience in rail or mechanical work, can safely lift 50 lbs, and are comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights up to 20 feet. Safety and quality matter in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Rail or mechanical experience preferred.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs safely.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights up to 20 ft.

Responsibilities

• Prepare railcars for shipment and secure loads (open/close doors, set bridge plates, remove debris).
• Load and unload vehicles onto railcars per quality standards.
• Space and secure vehicles within the rail for outbound shipments.
• Maintain buck loader ramps, door tracks, and other moving parts.
• Conduct monthly inspections and touch up paint on bridge plates.
