Job summary

Rio Grande Pacific Transit Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair railroad maintenance of way equipment in both shop and field settings. You will service diesel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems to keep MOW gear safe and ready for service.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, performing preventive maintenance, replacing engines and components, keeping accurate records, and following safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Experience with heavy equipment or diesel engines.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime.
• CDL or ability to obtain CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair Maintenance of Way equipment.
• Troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled equipment inspections.
• Repair or replace engines and other components.
• Perform field repairs and respond to breakdowns as needed.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repairs.
