Job summary

Road Safety Systems is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to keep our fleet of construction and roadway safety equipment running safely and reliably. This onsite role is based in Folsom, NJ and involves diagnosing problems, identifying root causes, and performing repairs on a variety of heavy equipment, trucks, and specialized machinery.

You will work on diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems with an emphasis on safe, efficient maintenance.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment or similar machinery.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
Welding and basic fabrication experience.
Ability to diagnose and complete repairs independently.
Valid driver's license; ability to obtain CDL if not already held.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and specialized construction equipment.
Troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Determine root causes of mechanical issues and perform repairs.
Weld and fabricate for equipment repairs and modifications.
Complete service records, inspections, and work orders; keep equipment ready for projects.
Safely operate forklifts and other shop equipment; keep a clean, safe shop.
Provide occasional field support when needed.
