Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Trainee for its Rail Flaw Detection program. You will undergo paid training at Sperry School of Rail Flaw Detection and travel extensively to eastern or western US sites to gain field experience.

Upon certification, you may operate your own testing platform or lead a crew, with clear progression from Trainee to Certified Operator and beyond. Travel and lodging are provided by Sperry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Able to pass a background check, drug screen, and DOT physical (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete training at Sperry School of Rail Flaw Detection.
• Learn rail detection methods across Short Line and Class I railways.
• Achieve certification in ultrasonic testing standards.
• Work as part of a crew and develop leadership to eventually lead a team.
• Operate testing platforms and potentially lead a crew after certification.
