Job summary
WSP is seeking a Field Structural Engineer for Rail Projects in Brooklyn, NY, on-site 100% of the time. You will support PMCM teams, review drawings, and monitor construction activities including rail outages and safety compliance.
Required 3–5 years in railroad construction, BS in Civil Engineering, and ability to travel. Expected duties include daily inspections, punch lists, and coordination with contractors to meet project objectives.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years minimum experience in railroad construction.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
- Ability to pass Safety Training and background checks.
- Proficient with Windows/Office and scheduling applications.
- Valid driver's license with possible regional travel.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager/Client Management as directed.
- Review shop drawings and provide engineering support during construction.
- Provide technical guidance to staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Check designs and drawings for compliance.
- Monitor rail outage schedules and perform daily inspections.
- Prepare daily inspection reports and punch lists.
- Coordinate activities on site with other trades and the facility.
- Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery.
