National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Fargo, ND to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads and transit systems.

The CIC coordinates with train crews, supervisors, and regulators, ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with federal rules. The role requires travel (50%–85%), strong communication skills, and prior railroad maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of railroad industry experience, preferably in maintenance of way or TY&E
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer, organization, and planning abilities
• Willingness to travel long-term (50%–85% of time) and obtain required training

Responsabilités

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) within arm's length of the track.
• Monitor track conditions and coordinate with dispatchers and engineers.
• Document daily activities, briefings, and incident reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies across projects.
