National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Denver, CO to oversee railroad safety, construction, and compliance for freight railroads and transit systems.

The CIC ensures work within railroad rights-of-way is performed safely, follows FRA regulations (49 CFR 214), and coordinates with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors. Travel is required 50%–85%, with frequent deployments and long-term assignments.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and organizational skills required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years' railroad industry experience preferred (maintenance of way/TY&E).
• Willingness to travel 50%–85% and complete required trainings.

Responsabilités

• Oversee worksite safety and flagging duties as needed in place of railroad personnel.
• Ensure full compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during track work.
• Monitor track conditions, approaching trains, and work activities to keep personnel clear of active tracks.
• Coordinate train movements with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors via radio/phone/electronic systems.
• Document all activities: briefings, incident reports, logs, and regulatory submissions.
