Job summary

Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division in Lexington, NC, seeks an Electro-Mechanical Technician I to support electrical and mechanical assembly in a high-energy production setting. You will build electrical control racks, wire harnesses, and sub-assemblies for rail vehicles.

The role requires basic blueprint reading, English communication, and physical stamina for production tasks, with room to learn and grow in a leading rail manufacturing site.

Qualifications

  • High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing or similar environments.
  • Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English.
  • Knowledge of reading blueprints, diagrams and parts lists is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
  • Connect wires between component leads and connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Cut wires to specified lengths and route, twist, wrap, tie, and attach to terminal points.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required.
  • Work from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or electro-mechanical subassemblies.
  • Frequently use fine motor skills assembling small parts with dexterity.
