Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Preassembly Technician to support the assembly and testing of electrical systems for rail vehicles and infrastructure in Salt Lake City.

You will prepare, wire, and inspect components, read schematics, and perform functional tests to ensure safety and quality. This on-site role requires proficiency with hand tools, multimeters, and other electrical testing equipment, and a collaborative approach with engineering and production teams to

Qualifications

• Experience in rail or industrial electrical systems preferred.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Certificate or diploma in Electrical Technology, Electrotechnology, or related field.
• Valid electrical license (state-specific).
• Proficiency with hand tools, multimeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to work from technical drawings and follow detailed instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and prewire electrical components such as control panels, junction boxes, and wiring harnesses.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Conduct functional tests on electrical assemblies using diagnostic tools.
• Identify and resolve issues during the preassembly phase to prevent downstream faults.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain documentation of inspections, tests, and modifications.
• Adhere to rail industry safety protocols and electrical codes.
