Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer in Hagerstown, Maryland. You will contribute to the fast-paced engineering team, focusing on electrical equipment design and system integration for rail applications.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 1–3 years of related experience, with proficiency in CAD tools and RAMS concepts. Domestic travel may be required, and the organization offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is required.
1 to 3 years of experience in Electrical Equipment Engineering.
Knowledge of pantograph, energy measurement, and battery systems.
Familiarity with RAMS concepts and railway standards EN50155/53/45545/TSIs.
Proficiency with common office software and CAD/DOORS tools.

Responsibilities

Support and coordination during bid and project development of electrical design.
Define conceptual solutions and architecture for equipment based on requirements.
Prepare system requirements specifications and test specifications.
Analyze supplier proposals and verify drawings for installation on board.
Assist with system type tests and on-board integration tests.
