Job summary

Hitachi Rail USA, Inc. in Hagerstown, Maryland, is seeking a Senior System Engineer (HVAC) to drive the onboard HVAC system engineering in a fast-paced Rolling Stock Engineering environment.

The role requires 5+ years in rail or similar settings, strong RAMS and requirements management, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Creo/Catia/DOORS. Travel is occasional; the job is on-site with a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the Railway sector or complex industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of railway regulations and standards.
• Experience with requirements management and RAMS.
• Proficiency with DOORS and engineering design tools.
• Ability to collaborate in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS).
• Define and manage system interfaces through the project lifecycle.
• Analyze supplier documentation and verify drawings/specifications.
• Lead design reviews with internal teams and suppliers.
• Develop Functional Requirements and Test Specifications for onboard systems.
• Support integration, performance testing, and homologation activities.
