Job summary

Hitachi Rail USA, Inc. in Hagerstown, Maryland invites an enthusiastic Associate Electrical Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team. Based in Hagerstown, the role focuses on bid development, design concepts, and system integration for railway equipment.

The candidate should have 1–3 years in Electrical Equipment Engineering, a relevant Bachelor's degree, and familiarity with railway standards, design tools, and RAMS concepts. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is required.
1 to 3 years of experience in Electrical Equipment Engineering.
Knowledge of railway standards (EN50155, EN50153, EN45545, TSIs, etc).
Basic knowledge of electrical/mechanical design software and DOORS.

Responsibilities

Support and coordination during bid and project development of electrical equipment design.
Definition of the conceptual solution and architecture based on requirements.
Preparation of systems requirements specification.
Analysis of Suppliers’ technical proposals.
Checking the technical description of the system.
Verification of drawings for installation on board.
Preparation of functional requirements specification for TCMS integration.
Preparation/verification of functional test specifications.
Support during system type tests and on-board integration tests.
Design reviews with Clients and Suppliers.
