Alaska Railroad Corporation seeks a Railway Crew Dispatcher to coordinate train crew resources and terminal support across Railbelt locations, ensuring adequate coverage for all train and engine service.

The role handles bidding, assignments, travel support, and keeps the crew schedules accurate. You will use the DB Launcher Crew Dispatch system and maintain essential data such as start times, pay rates, and leave status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Requires computer literacy in Word, Excel, and database management systems.
• Ability to perform basic math computations and operate a 10-key machine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to deal tactfully with customers.
• Must be able to work variable and non-standard shifts, holidays, and weekends.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle; driving record must meet program standards.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate all train crew dispatching activities to ensure adequate personnel for rail operations.
• Post job availability, bidding and bumping based on seniority and qualifications; arrange travel (hotel, airfare, ground transportation).
• Determine crew availability (vacation, sick time, rested status, training) and manage the extra board and scheduling rules testing.
• Respond to inquiries from employees regarding assignments and potential opportunities.
• Maintain and enter current information into automated systems (start times, tie up, deadhead times, project codes, pay rates, leave status); use DB Launcher Crew Dispatch system, lists and reports.
