Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a Conductor Trainee in Casper, Wyoming. The role supports safe switching, train movement, and track operations with on-the-job and classroom training for up to 19 weeks, including potential travel to training centers.

The position is part of a Primary Recall location with a 3-year obligation to return to the hiring location if called back to stabilize workforce. The job requires working full-time with on-call hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to report for duty at the designated location.
• Willingness to work in all weather and shift conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely switching railcars and controlling train movement.
• Monitor and report daily work.
• Observe and relay hand signals and signals for train movement.
• Operate track switches and derails to route trains within yards or on road.
• Inspect trains and observe track conditions as required by regulations.
