Watco is hiring for a conductor/engineer to control and coordinate train movements while switching railcars at yards, plants, or ports. The role requires manual work and training during an introductory period to ensure safe, efficient service for customers.

The position emphasizes reliable attendance, adherence to instructions, and the ability to read switching orders. Candidates must follow signals, communicate via radio, and maintain records of operations and cargo.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to pass training and required testing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.
• Follow written and verbal directions to complete tasks on schedule.
• Read, write, and communicate in English & understand basic math.
• supervise and coordinate the activities of train crews.
• Observes signals and operates locomotive per railroad rules.
• Maintains records of cars switched and cargo details.
