Job summary

MARTA is seeking an experienced instructor to provide classroom and on-the-job training for journeymen, apprentices, and supervisors in the maintenance of rail vehicle systems and subsystems. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years experience maintaining heavy rail car systems/subsystems.
• Minimum of 2 years formal training in electronics.
• 2 years formal experience in electronics instruction.
• Advanced computer skills in all primary departmental software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provides classroom and on-the-job instruction to journeymen, apprentices, and supervisors in operation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of rail vehicle systems and sub-systems.
• Develops training programs for instruction in car maintenance including propulsion, door control, and auxiliary power systems.
• Evaluates trainee performance and assists in development of training programs.
