Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineer’s License required.
• 4–6+ years of bridge design, rehabilitation and construction with railroad specialization.
• Experience with Freight Railroad bridge design.
• Experience with AREMA.
• Aptitude and interest in Task Management and staff development.
• Experience with office software and structural design/analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Railroad bridge design and detailing tasks incorporating AREMA practices.
• Structural analysis and preparation of calculations.
• Bridge evaluations including inspections and load ratings.
• Engineering investigations with cost and risk analysis.
• Use of LEAP, MDX, MIDAS, Mathcad and Excel for analysis.
• Construction plans using Microstation.
• Review of shop drawings and RFI.
• Construction management and document control for rail bridge construction.
• Manage project deadlines for on-time submittals.
• Interface with clients and maintain strong communication.
