Job summary

Artheon is seeking an experienced Coating Inspector to monitor surface prep, coating application, and QC on major rail/bridge projects in the New York area. You will work with contractors, engineers, and agency reps to ensure contract and AMPP standards are met.

Requirements include 3+ years in coating inspection, AMPP CIP I or BCI I certification, and OSHA 30 within 5 years. Travel/drop-ins to Nassau/Suffolk may be required, Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in Bridge Painting, Construction and Inspection.
• Valid AMPP CIP Level I Certification or BCI I Certification and must remain valid throughout the task order.
• Valid OSHA 30 Certification within past five years.
• Experience verifying construction work, inspecting surface cleaning/prep, and interpreting AMPP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Verify surface preparation and painting completion on site.
• Review contractor submittals including payrolls, DBE/MBE/WBE updates, schedules, and shop drawings.
• Interface with Senior Field Inspectors to review invoices for payment based on progress.
• Navigate sites including embankments, train tracks, and elevated platforms.
• Provide updates to MTA personnel in urgent circumstances.
• Ensure safe, productive work and maintain daily inspector reports.
• Comply with LIRR procedures and Project Safety/Quality Plans.
• Utilize PMIS and electronic filing per policy.
