Job summary

Artheon is seeking an experienced Coating Inspector to support major rail, bridge, and transportation infrastructure projects in New York. The role monitors surface preparation, coating application, and quality control to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved systems, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in bridge painting, construction and inspection.
• Experience on MTA, LIRR, and MNR projects preferred.
• Valid AMPP CIP Level I or Bridge Coating Inspector Level I cert.
• OSHA 30 certification valid within the past five years.
• Three years’ experience inspecting surface cleaning, prep, and coating systems per AMPP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Verify surface prep and painting completed on site.
• Review contractor submittals including payrolls and DBE/MBE/WBE updates and shop drawings.
• Interface with Senior Field Inspectors to review invoices for payment.
• Navigate sites including embankments, tracks, and platforms.
• Visit alternate sites and update MTA personnel promptly.
• Ensure work is performed safely and productively.
• Document work and prepare daily inspector reports.
• Notify MTA personnel of urgent events needing attention.
• Ensure work complies with LIRR procedures and guidelines.
• Comply with Safety and Quality Plan requirements.
• Utilize PMIS per LIRR policy.
• Attend MTA Roadway Worker Protection training and maintain certification.
• Coordinate LIRR flag protection for third-party contractors.
• Assist with planning track outages and foul time.
• Read/interpret contract specs and MPT drawings.
