Job summary

Modjeski and Masters, New Orleans office, seeks an AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector with 5+ years bridge coating inspection experience. The role includes QA inspections, reporting, and coordination with owners and contractors on bridge coating projects.

Earned certification path includes AMPP Senior certification; background check for e-RAILSAFE/TWIC and FRA drug testing are required. Hybrid work environment in the New Orleans area with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma minimum.
• Associate degree in Construction Management or B.S. degree from an ABET Accredited College or University is preferred.
• AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector.
• AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector will be considered pending ability to acquire AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector within 6 months of employment.
• 5+ years of BRIDGE coating inspection experience.
• Bridge specialty endorsement is preferred.
• SSPC C-3 "Lead Paint Removal" must be completed.
• SSPC C-5 "Lead Paint Removal Refresher" completed within the last two years.
• Must be able to pass a security background check for e-RAILSAFE and TWIC.
• Must be able to pass FRA Random Drug Testing.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team on bridge coating projects, typically two inspectors on larger projects or one on smaller projects.
• Perform Quality Assurance coating inspections on bridge painting projects and prepare daily/weekly reports.
• Bridge types include fixed and moveable trusses.
• Assist in preparation of coating plans and specifications.
• Review contractors’ submittals for QC operations, worker qualifications, containment plans, health and safety plans, and paint sampling/testing plans.
• Conduct coating condition assessments.
• Foster partnership between owner and contractor on bridge coating projects.
• Communicate effectively in English; strong written and oral skills; operate Excel, Word, and iPad apps.
