Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in the United States seeks a Systems Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and deployment of the Train Handling portfolio, including Trip Optimizer and Locotrol. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
• 1–2 years hands-on design, requirements development and implementation experience involving; Engineering Systems, Hardware/Software Engineering, and/or Data Information Systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of Train Handling solutions while applying sound engineering principles and established development processes.
• Assist in gathering, documenting, and analyzing customer and system requirements to support product development and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution and successful product delivery.
• Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, verification activities, and technical discussions throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical issues, analyzing system behavior, and supporting resolution efforts under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Contribute to field testing, validation, and evaluation activities for train automation and optimization solutions.
• Support the preparation of technical documentation, reports, project updates, and engineering deliverables.
• Work with railroad subject matter experts and engineering teams to learn operational concepts and apply them to product development efforts.
• Develop knowledge of industry standards, engineering best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to train automation, optimization, and distributed control systems.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools and technologies to improve productivity, accelerate learning, support analysis activities, and enhance engineering outcomes.
