Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a PRN Radiology Transporter to safely move patients by wheelchair or stretcher, and to assist with related duties in the Medical Imaging area. The role includes communicating patient information to receiving units and handling associated equipment and supplies.

Qualifications include Basic Cardiac Life Support, a high school diploma (preferred), and prior patient transport experience is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Safely transporting patients from one area to another via wheelchair, stretcher, or ambulating.
• Communicating relevant patient information to receiving unit.
• Transporting items with patient or separately such as oxygen or IV stands.
• Returning stretchers and wheelchairs to correct location and cleaning after use.
• Assisting with clerical duties, scheduling, ordering supplies, inventory, and other duties as needed by the Medical Imaging Management Team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Transporter is responsible for safely transporting patients from one are to another via wheelchair, stretcher, or ambulating. Responsibilities include communicating relevant patient information to receiving unit, transporting items with patient or separately such as oxygen or IV stands, returning all stretchers and wheelchairs to correct location, cleaning stretchers and wheelchairs after use, and ensuring O2 tanks are full and stored appropriately. Other duties include, but are not limited to, clerical, scheduling, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning, and all other duties deemed necessary by the Medical Imaging Management Team. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift
