Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a PRN Radiology Transporter to safely move patients between departments by wheelchair or stretcher. You will coordinate with the Medical Imaging team to ensure patient comfort and safety.

This role requires BCLS certification, a high school diploma, and prior patient transport experience. The PRN schedule offers flexibility and exposure to a wide range of imaging services.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or ambulating.
• Communicate relevant patient information to receiving unit.
• Transport items with patient such as oxygen or IV stands.
• Return stretchers and wheelchairs to correct location and clean equipment.
• Assist with clerical, scheduling, and inventory tasks as needed by Medical Imaging Management Team.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Transporter is responsible for safely transporting patients from one area to another via wheelchair, stretcher, or ambulating. Responsibilities include communicating relevant patient information to receiving unit, transporting items with patient or separately such as oxygen or IV stands, returning all stretchers and wheelchairs to correct location, cleaning stretchers and wheelchairs after use, and ensuring O2 tanks are full and stored appropriately. Other duties include, but are not limited to, clerical, scheduling, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning, and all other duties deemed necessary by the Medical Imaging Management Team. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support required
