Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital Inc. is seeking a Transporter for the Radiology department to move patients by wheelchair or stretcher and support MRI transport safety. This role emphasizes patient confidentiality, teamwork, and attention to safety around medical devices and radiology equipment.

Eligible candidates should have BLS, CPI (within 90 days if sitter), and prior hospital exposure. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with strong communication and basic computer skills essential

Qualifications

• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• CPI certification within 90 days if also working as a sitter.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• 1 year experience with patient care preferred.
• Basic medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of good body mechanics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of team members.
• Displays an aptitude for general office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely and effectively by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Recognizes equipment or patient problems and informs the nurse, technologist, or physician.
• Observes/monitors patient safety and comfort; alerts staff of issues.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and professional discretion.
• Ensures safety practices and radiation safety in MRI transport.
• Assists and supports hospital staff during exams.
• Greets and escorts patients to imaging department rooms.
