Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or higher education required.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work with public, patients, other departments and medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients within the department and to other departments.
• Answer telephone and questions in a courteous manner.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers before procedures.
• Prepare patient paperwork and expedite through schedule and examinations.
• Assist patients for exams including changing into gowns and accompanying to exam rooms.
• Maintain universal precautions and patient confidentiality.
• Operate hospital computer systems (Cerner and PACS).
• Assist in ordering and stocking department supplies.
• Maintain medication security to authorized personnel only.
• Participate in hospital improvement activities as requested.
