Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking a Student Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) for a per diem, non-benefit eligible role. You will support patient check-in, exam preparation, and imaging procedures while enrolled in an accredited Rad Tech program.

Day shifts with some weekend work are available. You will gain hands-on experience using various equipment and software, with responsibilities across clinical and clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in the second year of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and remains in good standing.
• Prior experience in healthcare or customer service is preferred.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire is required.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy is expected.
• Understanding of medical terminology and patient care concepts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work both independently and with others.
• Ability to transport and assist with positioning patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with exams on adults, geriatric, adolescent, and pediatric patients.
• Support patient check-in, preparation for visits, and patient education.
• Help with clerical tasks, equipment operation, and use of software.
• Transport patients and assist care team as needed.

The Student Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) must be enrolled in an accredited Rad Tech program. They perform a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The Student Rad Tech is responsible for assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting. The Student Rad Tech is trained to use a wide variety of equipment, computers, and software.
The incumbent must be able to resolve conflict and endure the pressures associated with a constantly changing work environment. The incumbent assists with exams on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups and performs patient assessment within the scope of practice.
