Job summary

UnityPoint Health-Meriter in Wisconsin seeks a Student Radiologic Technologist enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program. You will assist the patient care team, perform routine clerical, technical and patient-related tasks, and support imaging exams under supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience across age groups, learn to operate equipment and software, and help ensure safe, compassionate care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in second year of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and in good standing.
• Prior healthcare or customer service experience.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology.
• Strong patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to transport and lift patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients, prepare for visits, and provide patient education.
• Assist with imaging exams and procedures under supervision.
• Transport patients between carts, beds, and wheelchairs.
• Support the patient care team with clerical and technical tasks as needed.
• Assist with exams across adults, geriatric, adolescent, and pediatric patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff to ensure quality care.

Job description

The Student Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) must be enrolled in an accredited Rad Tech program. They perform a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The Student Rad Tech is responsible for assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting. The Student Rad Tech is trained to use a wide variety of equipment, computers, and software.

The incumbent must be able to resolve conflict and endure the pressures associated with a constantly changing work environment. The incumbent assists with exams on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups and performs patient assessment within the scope of practice.

Required Qualifications:

• CPR certification within 3 months of hire
